Thoughts and encouragement from one girl to another

Hold your head high gorgeous, people would kill to see you fall.

Over the past couple of months, I have realized a few things about my life: I can be needy, demanding, and at times over the top, but I have also realized, I am worthy of being whoever the hell I want to be. Who sets the standards on how you should act? What's appropriate vs inappropriate? What draws the line as to being considered respected as a woman and being a demanding one? I have learned a lot out of my past relationships, a lot. I have learned what I want, what I don't want, I have learned how to be selfless, compassionate, loyal, and a team player to the best of my ability. But out of all the relationships I have been in and out of, the most important thing I have finally come to understand, is never to settle. I am not talking about one certain thing or quality in a person, I mean in every single aspect. Their faith, heart, looks, compassion, loyalty, intelligence, hard work, etc...we accept the love we think we deserve, so why are we settling for anything less? We, as women, over time have become stronger in so many ways, yet we have also become dumber. I see the most beautiful girls that have everything going for them, continuously settle for men who treat them like dirt because they aren't demanding more. We are settling because we long for love. It is in our make-up to be a caretaker, as well as being taken care of, and alot of the times, I feel as though we are afraid of the unknown and the thought that possibly a better guy may not be out there. News flash ladies: There is! Tons of them. And I KNOW there is. How do I know? Because we come from a God that wants to give us the desires of our hearts, and I can't imagine him creating 8 billion people, roughly half of them being men, and not one of them having their shit together. Now with all of this being said, we as women need to have it together as well. The only reason I expect alot, is because over time I have learned to give alot. If I was an awful woman that was dishonest and lazy in a relationship, how could I ask more of the person I was dating? This is also not to say that anyone has to be perfect and we should expect that either. Everyone has flaws, it's just a matter of where you draw the line and what flaws bother you the most to consider what is worth it. Ultimately, the point of this whole rant is to say, stop settling! Don't be with a guy that has everything you want in certain areas and is lacking something really important in another. There are men who have it ALL together, who are everything you could want and more, that you don't have to try and change! We just have to learn to be happy with being on our own, self-sufficient, independent, and confident in who we are and what we deserve. Now go out there and make a badass woman of yourself. Show the world your intelligence, class, and self-worth. There is no better way to feel good about yourself than to constantly improve who you are, what you want, and what you deserve.

I can't tell you the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.

You have to be willing to get happy about nothing.

To live an incredible life, we must lose the fear of being wrong.

Promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate.

Two things define you: your patience when you have nothing  your attitude when you have everything.

Fall in love with yourself first

People are going to stare, make it worth their while.
