Thoughts and encouragement from one girl to another

Dear destiny, I am ready for you.

As long as I can remember, I have longed to be great. I have this feeling like I am suppose to do something big with my life and make God really proud, but I still have yet to figure out how or what exactly it is. I don't have a particular extraordinary talent, i'm not great at sports, cooking, or even writing. I recently watched a youtube video of a young man who actually grew up in Austin, Texas- Ben Breedlove. He was diagnosed at a young age with a serious heart condition that would affect the longevity of his life. He made an incredible youtube video of his experience, and recently passed from his condition. His one small and inexpensive video has reached almost 8 million views on Youtube, and has changed so many people as to the way they live. Although most of us do not have a life threatening or serious condition that we can relate to on how he impacted the world- we all have hearts, and souls, and the want to make the world a better place somehow. After discussing this video with my dad, who is an amazing figure in my life and such a stand up person, I told him that I felt like I had a purpose on this earth and I just didn't know what it was. I feel as though many of us struggle with the question of our destiny. He sent me a text message that was so simple, yet so profound. He said, "Kath, treating people with love and respect every day, one on one. If a bigger opportunity presents itself than great. But, we can affect people on a daily basis which is so important. Think about how many people you can touch over a lifetime by just being kind."
That is my hope and prayer for my life. That is pretty much my sole reason for writing this blog. If you get the slightest bit of encouragement or joy from anything I write or post, than I am so happy. Maybe my destiny is just that- being encouraging..and if it is, that is absolutely perfect with me.

What is your destiny? Do you know what you were put on this earth to do? My guess is it's a lot bigger than you think. You don't have to know now or even in 10 years from now what exactly it is, but just know that you were meant for something great and so much bigger than you can imagine. We don't all have the voice of an angel or the writing capability of Ernest Hemingway, but we all have a spark inside of us that is the foundation for us to do something amazing with.
Now go out there and change the world in such a positive way that when you leave, people want to mimic your greatness.

Welcome to your dreams, don't lose your mind.
You should feel beautiful long before someone has to come and tell you so.

When you hate something, you chain yourself to it.

Refuse to be average, let your heart soar as it will.

At any given moment, you have the power to say, this is not how my story is going to end.

Your mission: be so busy loving your life, that you have no time for hate, fear, or regret.

I may be crazy, but all the best ones are.
